Avenue Pasteur

Doctor’s office/Marseille

Osteopathy is treating the body as a whole and we wanted to conceive the space in the same way: All parts should function together smoothly . The playful, elegant and warm mixture of materials and structures offer a functional and physically enjoyable way of handling them.

Different drawers and doors have their own way of being opened - this reflects the possibilities and different approaches to treating patients using manipulation. Different surfaces were created: a screen print where you feel the structure of the drawing like skin tissue, soft enameled coatings reminiscent of connective tissue, grey and orange lino like muscle tissue.

Body movement is like a language on its own, our design reflects perpetual movement in large and small - we chose patterns and drawings, printing them on screens and wooden panels, that could be decipherable as movement too. Repetitive points on a piece of paper created a lively drawing, we scratched the surface of a glass by using always nearly the same gesture, and created a tagged piece by repeating a handwritten signature - as a result the space is alive and organic.
